What is Freefly?

Freefly offers new challenges, exciting experiences and rewards. The learning method in skydiving is considered two-dimensional, but with freefly you have more freedom to move in three dimensions.

The different freefly techniques are learned in one on one training jumps and afterwards, you will be introduced to the different phases of freefly, FF1 and FF2.

Is it hard to learn?

Most people have tried freefly after 25 jumps, but the most common thing is that they end flying on their back. This happens because they try the wrong way, trying to sit or going head down directly.

FF1 (Sit fly position)

  • 1. Back fly and sit fly position:

In this level you will learn how to exit the plane in a stable back fly position, in order to change to head up position (sit fly position). You will progress your skill in sit fly position with practice, this will allow you to gain a bigger range of movement when you learn more advanced skills.

  • 2. Turns in sit fly position:

In this level you will learn to do an exit in sit fly position to control the direction you take. If you are able to control your direction you will also be able to turn.

  • 3. Transitions:

This level will show you different types of transitions (front, backwards, etc.), in order to loose and regain stability in a quick and efficient way.

  • 4. Speed changes:

Each person has different weight and size, due to this, the speed in free fall varies. Changing our position we can learn to accelerate o decelerate in order to fly with other skydivers.

  • 5. Horizontal moving (forward and backwards):

Using the air we can learn to move forward, backwards or to the sides. This is very important if we want to jump with other skydivers.

  • 6. FF1 Graduation jump:

Exit in sit fly position, turns, speed changes, movement forward and backwards, transitions. This level combines all the learned techniques and allows you to use them in one jump. After your level 6 jump, you will receive your FF1 certificate.

FF2 (face down position)

The next step (FF2) will require more time and patience. Acquiring the skills depends on your previous experience in freefly, this means that the course adapts to your own experience and skills. FF2 is focused in face down position, showing you several techniques to get the maximum profit of this position. After a week of intensive training in FF2 (after completing FF1) you will be able to fly face down with other skydivers (in a safe way).
